MWANZA REGION TO BECOME SPECIAL DAIRY ZONE- PM
PRIME MINISTER KAYANZA MIZENGO PETER PINDA said today that with concerted efforts Mwanza will be the apex of milk production in 10 years to come.
The Prime Minister was addressing a consultative meeting of livestock stakeholders in Mwanza calling upon players across the board to exploit the available opportunities.
He said the challenges experienced in the sector should be turned into opportunities that will see it contribute handsomely to the national Growth Domestic Products (GDP)
"Vision 2025 stipulates clearly that we become a middle income economy and if implemented fully , the livestock sector should drive us therte" said the Prime Minister
This according to the Prime Minister this could only be possible if we abandon the tradional way of livestock keeping, adopt the insemination method of dairy keeping
