World Rabies Day is an initiative of GARC. We started it in 2007 to create a global opportunity for people to focus on rabies prevention.
Since then, it has grown year on year, with hundreds of thousands of people participating in events on or around September 28 - and at other times of year too.
The organizers and participants are people like you, whether you live in a rabies endemic area and at risk of the disease or, just care deeply about the devastating impact of the disease and want to do some thing about it.
And we're here to support, advise, celebrate and share.
Together we can end rabies.

Na, Edward Kondela Serikali imeanza utekelezaji wa ufugaji samaki kwa njia ya vizimba katika Ziwa Tanganyika baada ya mpango huo kuonesha mafanikio makubwa katika Ziwa Victoria. Akizungumza (11.01.2024) katika Mwalo wa Kasanga uliopo Wilaya ya Kalambo Mkoani Rukwa, Naibu Waziri wa Mifugo na Uvuvi Mhe. Alexander Mnyeti amesema tayari wizara imeanza kutoa elimu kwa wavuvi wa ukanda wa Ziwa Tanganyika kabla ya kufikisha vizimba hivyo na mbegu bora za samaki. Mhe.Mnyeti ameongeza kuwa kwa sasa serikali imetenga Shilingi Bilioni 20 kwa ajili uwekaji vizimba katika Ziwa Victoria na Ziwa Tanganyika kwa sababu ufugaji wa samaki unakua kwa kasi maeneo mbalimbali duniani kutokana na upungufu wa samaki waliopo kwenye maji ya asili yakiwemo mabonde, maziwa, mito na bahari kutokana na sababu mbalimbali ikiwemo ya uharibifu wa mazingira, ongezeko la watu na uharibifu wa mazalia ya samaki.
